The Regenerative Ag team at the University of Tennessee is dedicated to providing Real. Life. Solutions. to climate challenges and opportunities in Tennessee through applied research, education, and outreach.
Challenge
The world’s climate is changing. Extreme weather patterns are increasing. Sea levels are rising. If we remain on this trajectory, long term estimates paint a grim picture. From catastrophic loss of crops and lives, Tennessee has experienced its fair share of climate challenges in the last decade.
Solution
Agriculture in Tennessee has the opportunity to not only reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, but also to mitigate current CO2 levels through carbon sequestration on our pastures, cropland, and forests that cover more than 75% of our beautiful state.
Our interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and economists are working together to develop and promote regenerative and sustainable ag practices across the state, region, and nation.
